Here’s one for your spring concert calendar, Hudson Valley folks. This group currently residing near Livingston Manor puts on an excellent show.

They were the first live music I saw coming out of the pandemic — it was an outdoor stage set up in the parking lot of the abandoned IBM headquarters.

Wow, that’s interesting. How did he start that? Was he coming at it as a sound engineer or a firefighter?

Them: what’s your internal monologue like?

I often return to this Dougie Poole record from a few years back. The perfect blend of ‘70s AM Radio, irreverent country (in the Ween tradition), and a dash of Grateful Dead circa “Touch of Grey”. A cornucopia of observations abt contemporary civilization.

I frequently think about Craig Robinson’s line from Knocked Up when he says “you’re not too old for the world, just for this club.”
Painfully real 😂
A Nicholas Jaar album from January that I missed when it came out and just stumbled across last week. It's got all the quality experimental dance-ambient magic you'd expect from him. #electronicmusic #musicsky

Babon's new album combines a globe-trotting, crate-digging, jazz-funk groove sensibility with hints of Indonesian flair. Been enjoying this one all week. 🎧
