Which is to say spouse replaced the water pump but I feel confident that my assistance made it go at least 20% faster! In and out in 3 hours, plus a little more to troubleshoot bubbles and we're on our way again.

I swam in Lake Superior (and waded in Lake Michigan, pictured.) It was excellent and I didn't want to leave. But finding last minute vacation rentals in the UP in October is tough. And leaves aren't even at peak yet!

Sunset kayaking in Florida was beautiful but there was a severe lack of birds, especially water birds. This is depressing and heartbreaking.

I saw a doctor saying that it's important for circulation to get out and get your calf muscles pumping every two hours on a road trip. But the AQI here is over 100 and climbing. Which is also terrible for your cardiovascular health.
Which is worse? No exercise or exercise in poison air? Win/win!

Road trip! 3000 miles to go.

We need to decide whether or not to drive across most of Texas, or just from Dallas eastward. I'm scared of Texas and scared of driving in Texas especially bc my partner is nonwhite.

But I'm also really curious because I have never seen Texas.
