As the year draws to a close, we're excited for what next year will bring! But we also wanted to reflect on 2025 from multiple perspectives, so we canvassed our team and compiled these retrospectives.

Kicking us off is @mbbischoff.com: one of Lickability’s founding partners and wearer of many hats!

2025 was a year marked by “ARR” and “conversions,” and we’re proud to have been integral in making tools that enable creators to focus on building the best products they can.

Here’s a breakdown of some work we did for @revenuecat.com in 2025!

Our engineer Ashli got tired of writing TCA’s boilerplate and made two templates for anyone to use: one for Dependencies and one for Reducers!

We polled the team on everyone’s preference for iOS 26.1’s Liquid Glass settings:

It was a nice round 75%–25% with clear as the “clear” winner 😉

What’s your preferred setting for iOS 26.1?

We talk about iOS a lot, but we’re actually well-rounded… 😝

Lickability is looking to hire a Freelance Android Designer for upcoming projects! Please send portfolios with examples of your mobile Android design work to [email protected].

We were catching up with @iosdevweekly.com, which led us to this article announcing the “Swift SDK for Android” 😮

The project has grown since Apple open sourced Swift back in 2015. Huge kudos to anyone championing cross-platform development efforts! What do you think?

Our Sr. Account Manager Tom has been enjoying TechWalk: “It’s a great way to connect with smart people in tech while enjoying some sunshine and fresh air. I enjoy supporting the Jersey City chapter to share some representation (and a little love) for my home state!”

People still seem divided on iOS 26 overall, but we’ve noticed most are impressed with the creative and elegant things developers have been doing in-app with this new toolkit!

We’d love to hear from you: What are your favorite app redesigns, Liquid Glass implementations, etc.? ⬇️

This Toolbox Spotlight also serves as an introduction to the newest member of our team: Deepak!

He’s “been making iOS apps since before the App Store was released,” and when he’s not thinking about software engineering, he’s probably thinking about basketball.

During our summer retreat, one of our engineers sought to streamline opening pull requests and writing good descriptions for them.

His solution? Equal parts Markdown and the Shortcuts app!

Our engineer Ashli found an unexpected interaction regarding the allowsNumberPadPopover variable that was added in iOS 26: Sometimes it presents as a pop up, other times it does not. It also sometimes gets stuck in a disappeared state in one of our apps.

Lickable nav/transition details 👌
Even custom navbar/toolbar buttons and their transitions are so fun too, like this one for our History filter toolbar item.

Tables, tables, tables! (╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻

@revenuecat.com 1.7 re-introduces the Prediction and Cohort Explorer charts that were missing from the mobile version.

This required us to build tables, so… all charts have table versions now too!
