I don’t like how those Metacritic reviews were displayed but otherwise I mostly agree with the sentiment of that investor report towards Square Enix. Too much secrecy of sales numbers and development plans and not appreciating the power of their IPs enough truly backfired

I’m reading this investor report on Square Enix and this is why their silence is bad right now. CD Projekt Red showed a clear timeline of their pipelines until 2027 + beyond when TW4 comes out, despite their stained track record. When you have giant IPs you have to be aggressive

Kitase managed to convince Nojima and Nomura to ditch the love parameter stuff with the three girls and focus on Rinoa. He sent this request asking for a super-intense, all-in love story between those two characters. And Nojima actually ended up delivering on it. (FF8 Ultimania) [3/3]

I don’t understand why this was up for debate because in fact it confused me that other people other than Cloud/Zack/Angeal could carry it. I assumed they could cos they’re jacked up Soldiers
Naoki Hamaguchi says that while making FFVII Remake, the team debated giving Cloud a more realistic version of the Buster Sword since there was this aspect of the weight and how Cloud swings it around with one hand that sort of felt like it would weaken the sense of realism. (Julien Chièze, 12/7)

There’s a lot of vitriol in fandoms bc we lost dedicated forums/blog sites where we could foster our love for whatever game or show. It was Tumblr’s appeal and drama only happened WITHIN the fandom. But now everybody is in everyone’s business bc the algorithm feeds on discourse.
