If this were Just Stop Oil, there'd have been dozens of arrests, furious denunciations in the billionaire press and, perhaps, long jail sentences. Farmers have a right to protest, and the police respect it. Other people, it seems, not so much.

I joined protestors outside the RCJ today because our politicians continue not only to ignore the evidence of climate breakdown , but accelerate our species collapse with this obsession over growth above all else .

There is no more important challenge than the climate emergency.

That is why I will vote against Heathrow expansion.

Climate campaigners have defeated this before — and we will fight back again.

A third runway at #Heathrow in the midst of a climate emergency is a vile act of vandalism. Rachel Reeves is happy to burn the planet for a tiny (probably elusive) increment of GDP. How does this benefit us?

A "potential" 0.43% increase in GDP *by 2050* - in return for torching the UK's climate leadership and adding vast amounts of carbon to the atmosphere - is simply not worth it.

No third runway. Grow the green economy, not airports.

Another example of why the UK's national parks need to stop promoting mass tourism. It's not just the roads, the fragile ecology can't cope either @peakdistrict.bsky.social

Daniel James becomes the first Welsh player to score 20 goals for Leeds since Gary Speed in December 1991.

A lovely moment on the 13th anniversary on Gary Speed's passing. #LUFC

Today is thst darkest of anniversaries, 13 years since I took a call from the desk asking me to check out a report that Gary Speed, the football hero, my friend, was dead. I’ll never forget that morning.
My thoughts are with those closest to him on this awful anniversary.
Talk to someone.

Another stunning Alpine panorama. The beautiful, pointy mountain on the left is the Rimpfischhorn (4,199m). It's a great climb and not as hard as it looks from this angle #mountains #mountaineering #switzerland #alps #photography
