Been practicing some vfx ( and playing a lot of Mario Wonder) during my time off, so I did a couple of studies of the coin collection vfx from the game ✨

We've just passed 500 Patrons on noclip_2!

Thank to you so much to the community of people rallying around our coverage of outstanding, lesser covered games. And deep previews of exciting new ones.

We still need more support. Come be part of our growing community at patreon.com/noclip2

Ah man that really sucks, feels extra bad when you're in the minority pushing back on this stuff. I hope you can find a place that shares your values 🙏
If you *really* don't want to do a specific aspect of gamedev, don't include examples of it on your portfolio just to pad it out. Otherwise chances are you'll end up being asked to do that thing at some point. Lots of caveats to that but in general it's helped me direct my career a bit

Hi friends. Unfortunately, my time at Heart Machine is coming to an end. I’m seeking a new role and would appreciate your support. Saying goodbye to such a talented team is difficult, but I am excited for the next adventure. <3

I'll have more info soon.

Thanks everyone. Stay strong out there.

Been thinking the same thing, I see more and more games on steam have the AI disclosure at the bottom of the page and it seems like people just accept it if the game is interesting enough to them? idk i'm personally not interested in playing anything made with genAI

We've added 14k YouTube subs to noclip_2 in the past month, pretty much exclusively covering underground and indie games like this. Please come be part of what we're building over there.
House of Necrosis by @warkus.bsky.social wears it's influences on it's sleeve. But it's roguelite loop and mystery dungeon gameplay presents a whole new challenge.

Quick lil pixel doodle from last night playing around on my iPad.

Been thinking about old PCs and decided to play around with the CGA color palette. It’s very nostalgic to me.

Was looking at TV's and it seems that most of the top listed features are things that use "AI" to dynamically alter the native Colour, Frame Rate and Audio of whatever content you're watching. Those are the advancements made in that product space? Good lord 🤮
Love what noclip2 is doing, help these folks keep covering cool games!
Thanks to the 379 people who are currently keeping noclip_2 running. We need at least twice as many as that by the end of the month to keep it in the green so if you value the types of game we cover, please help us out.

funny how no one needs to force anyone to eulogize a good person
Oh awesome, my gut feel was that it would be a dead end but I'm glad I assumed incorrectly. I've got an older laptop that I unfortunately updated to Windows 11 which has made it run at a snails pace. Might be a good excuse to pop Linux on it. Thanks for the advice! :)
Is it actually feasible to ditch Windows if you work in gamedev and need to use programs like Unreal/Maya/various Source Control programs?
I could totally look this up but I also want to send salty vibes about Microsoft into the void.
