Editorials like this are dumb because "center" has no common definition. Manhattan editorialists define "center" differently than most others. This NYT editorial cites both populists & corporatists as "the center." It's incoherent, unless you read it as NYT trying to be America's tone policeman.

I don't think the missile attack happened. There were no kabooms from Camp Pendleton, and normally, when they play with heavy artillery up there, we hear booms.
