Excited to share that I am one of the fellows of the Fall 2025 @macdowell1907.bsky.social and I will be heading there in a few days to spend a full month working on the writing, development, and world-making aspects of two features I have been working on.

I 100% agree. Also it is definitely a choice, I personally cannot think/create like that.

However, some funds and grants in recent years have shown some more interest in those. It somehow gives the illusion you can achieve the proposed ideas.

and now they dare to call “indie” some Hollywood wannabe films with huge budgets that aim for that same level of commercial polish of the studio films.
