its really what coming out felt for me. you internalize that everything you like is wrong to a point that you hate who you actually are. and then you find out its actually ok, and that literally no one cares either way. and the happiness that comes from it is immeasurable.

I have one story like that, but I know that 50% of people who will read it will inevitably see it as manipulation. and wont read it till the end, to see the character breaking their facade, to actually get to the big reveal, where they come to terms with how they felt the entire time.

it turns out that they've been fantasizing or privately liking or even just thinking about that stuff.

and instead of having character development trough them changing their outlook on things. the development is simply them not feeling ashamed anymore for liking what they like.

I think. my favourite plot is having someone whos outwardly against something.
and the trough either difficult choices or random chance has to do the thing.
and they turn to liking it, to a point where it seems like an unhealthy obsession.
