Leila Sales suffers for her art. Well, it's not really art. But it's something. And she suffers. Author, editor, eater of chocolate. My newest book, THE MUSEUM OF LOST AND FOUND, is out now! https://leilasales.com/ https://thebookengineer.com/

English Teacher is my favorite show on television, bar none; however, they should have hired someone (probably me) to be an Austin consultant. That airport in s2e5 is not our airport. In s2e9, they should’ve referenced HEB, not Piggly-Wiggly.
If my legacy in this world is as the person who compiled a spreadsheet of more than 150 Halloween events in Austin, I would be okay with that.
Our annual spreadsheet of Austin Halloween events is back and bigger than ever. Pet costume parades, immersive theater, horror movies in unlikely locations, dance parties, seances, pumpkin art, spooky drag & burlesque—we've got it all. docs.google.com/spreadsheets...

This Louvre heist is just so inelegant. Danny Ocean earns our respect with his elaborate deceptions. You don’t know his team was there until they’re gone. Meanwhile these hooligans are smashing windows and setting off alarms. No finesse. I scorn them.
In Austin, they try and convince you “we can’t have a rail line out to the airport because we don’t already have a rail line out to the airport. Folks would have had to put that in years ago, before any of us were in power.” That’s NOT TRUE. Infrastructure is not set in stone.
I’m in LA for the first time in a minute and would like my fellow travelers to know that there’s now a shiny new metrorail station at LAX! It opened in June! You can take the K line to and from there! That opened 3 years ago! Public transit actually can improve! It is not too late for any city!
If you're wondering what it was like to write for a college newspaper in 2005, all I can tell you is that one time I wrote a column about how I'm bad at going to the gym and Precor sent me a T-shirt.
It turned out not to be a big deal BECAUSE you worried about it. Your worry actually saved the day. Proof that you should worry even more next time!

Anyone who thinks I’m not neurodivergent has never seen me around animals
All things being equal, I would like to know what the "Let Them" theory is, but I refuse to read the book or even read a description of the book, so I guess this is just one more mystery that will never be solved

Me every morning: ugh I can’t believe I have to write again today

Me every night: oh wow turns out writing actually is good for my mental health after all, huh
One of my favorite moments in cinema is at the start of Vengeance, when @bjnovak.bsky.social's character is trying to figure out if a girl in his phone as "Brunette Random House Party" is someone he met at a Random House party or a random house party.
While I'd certainly like to enhance my skin's luminosity and reduce hyperpigmentation, I'm afraid I have neither a million spare dollars nor a million spare hours, so I guess I'll just stick with what I'm already doing

well this so-called "club" sandwich has very little ketamine in it
Guys I’ve been really into music lately
OMG ok maybe I will do this for Halloween??
The bit where Owen’s character is walking Luke’s character through his 50-year plan is one of my favorite moments in cinema
Future Man! A truly excellent character.
