Ironically this storm is mostly affecting the South Island and it's stolen valour to make it about wellington just because that's where I'm from and we have a reputation for wind, but it's such an easy joke to make

i found them hard to read at first, but the symbolism would be sad to lose. I wonder if having them upside down but without the vertical line might work, since they won't draw the eye like they do now. You'd lose the symbolism but I don't think they'd read as upward arrows either, so maybe that's ok

When I was twelve I believed that we didn't have to fight for equality for any marginalised groups because if we simply abolished the family and had equal access to high quality education that it would sort itself out within a couple generations

If you `once(1000).chain(once(999).chain(...))` then the size and bit pattern of the object is known at compile time, unlike in a language with boxed cons-cells, where the bit pattern of any cell depends on the result of an allocator call

be cheating to look in compiler explorer). It should be allowed to allocate stack space and then just write the correct bytes. I think this is a bit unfair in that Rust gets compile time size information about the size of the list that other langs don't get, which it can use to go faster

I think because the Option<Once<T>> is twice the size of T, that there should be ways to do this that are faster. If you're just timing how long it takes to create the list then I'm sure Rust should allow strategies that are much faster, depending on how exactly it optimises things (I think it would
