Gretchin hand-me-downs?
It was indeed.... of course I might of had a few "extra attempts" to get the rare Shuriken Catapult 😇

Fun fact: the hands are from an Eldar Dire Avenger (which metal model may of been sacrificed to the Wolf-time).

Pls don't tell Obi-wan Sherlock Clousseau!
Vert cool, I do like a good AI super-tank 👏
We doing ye olde Beakies?

Here's mine Space Wolf from when the traders were rogue, definitely not armed with a xenos weapon.

I’ve been reminded it’s Friday (thanks @owolf.bsky.social)

So this week the theme is…memory.

Let’s see those blasts from the past.

As usual I’ll reskeet the lot and if you like something, share it!

Classic miniatures, huh? Here's a Martian Metals Ogre Mk. V, sculpted by Forest Brown in 1979.
That's a mighty handsome force good Sir, my compliments 👏👏

Nice touch as well with Tom's Long Tom 👍

Preparing for Tukayyid.

Done - Completed ComGuard Level-III (Battalion) with 36 BattleMechs and additional BSP elements to round out the force. Will add a few decals in due course, but that’s the ComGuard finished.

2/ These models were scaled to the original BattleDroids plastic Mech figures and larger than the 1/285 scale FASA settled on for BattleTech, this range being produced by Ral Partha.

The are (Mech names 2nd):

Deathblow - Archer

Sprinter - Catapult

Sam - Javelin

1/ In the mid-eighties, Games Workshop was going to enter into a licensing deal with USA-based company FASA to produce a range of miniatures for their BattleDroids game (later BattleTech).

It never came to pass, but 3 tester models were done and later sold by GW as 'Slocombe's Warbots'.
The best way to avoid speaking with staff in a GW store* is to say to them "I know the Ten Commandments".

*Not saying someone would want to, but you know, in theory.

Welcome to the club of accurate optics! 🤓

It's a great special power for modelling, not only is everything in crystal clear focus, it's also slightly magnified. That's a win-win in my book.
3) Changed it's stance and agreed with me. Essentially, the AI had never seen and / or understood the meaning of what's in Inferno on this subject matter.

Now, I was acting in good faith here and being truthful, but it was crystal clear how an AI could be manipulated by feeding it inaccurate info.
2) Points of a certain small part of the community that didn't like the idea supported by one bit of info from a 40K source book.

I then challenged it on this based on the source material in Horus Heresy Book Seven: Inferno (i.e. the then only foundational Custodes background) and it immediately -
1) And AI is so easily manipulated through how it interfaces with its knowledge base.

I did an experiment with ChatGPT at the time of women Custodes being announced. I asked it if there were any women Custodes in the Warhammer 40,000 universe.

In response it essentially repeated a lot of the....
I saw one of these for a video I made and like a lot of AI text, it sounded authoritative and knowledgable while getting the factual detail wrong.
Ultramarine long pass is a recognised Word Bearer sport.
Samis is one of the most dynamically posed miniatures I've ever own and incredibly detailed.

It definitely feels like a warp entity made real, with all sorts of peculiar features. Subtle nods to each of the 4 chaos gods in the sculpting!

Very hard to photograph, best appreciated in the resin.
Samus is here!

This infamous villian of the Horus Heresy series is now complete.

Sculpted by Trish Carden of Forge World, this was a lot of fun to build.

Painting: fleshwork and spines by Popcorn Gen, sword, base and details by @noxpainting.bsky.social

I'm very pleased with how it turned out!

Update: Looks like it's an.... acceptable day for the Iron Hands. The Gorgons get their pew-pew back.

Also, Imperial Fists no longer infiltrated by Alpha Legion for Bastion Fire is both a necessity for balance, and a loss for game high-jinks.
