This Is the Story of a Backpack and the Little Boy Who Loved It for Nine Years
After nine years, we finally had to replace our Pottery Barn Mackenzie Backpack. Our son agreed — but only if it was the bigger version of the same thing.

My first and definitely last time working with the Los Angeles Times. Editing out the most urgent point of an OpEd in the minutes before sending to press while then also assigning a title and image that suggest an argument entirely opposite to the author’s clear intent is pretty shitty.

Read the Vanity Fair Cormac McCarthy piece and am nauseated. @vanityfair.com editors should be ashamed of themselves. This bloviated pompous refuse somehow simultaneously celebrates grooming a minor while decentering the subject of the story. VF should donate all ad revenue to survivors charity.

CES 2024 was a whirlwind. The actual products available were mostly small improvements-based. Auracast was notable, and something we’ll likely take for granted in the future much like we expect standard Bluetooth now. Still a few years away from headphones and earbuds that function independently.

Going to do my best to watch as much of the USWNT at the World Cup as my fatigue will allow. Hope they have a better showing than the last two.

Hoping I can make it through a good bit of the US/Portugal Women’s World Cup game. Midnight is a lot later than it used to be.
