Ashi’s elderbow warned that, under Nellos’s wounds, the likelihood fever is a tongue-eel growing is high. It will slay him and burst from his brain. I bade we should gather a hymn-ring and outsing his health. Yet Nellos bade me near, held my hand, and told he kenned deathwound. ~Hizelama Seaevomelea,~ - “We remind Seaevomel,~ he said, and then that he should not let his body be so foully rise again under a tongue-eel’s thralldom. His breath shuddered. ~Ayasiryrya leir-rualf,~ he outspoke: “I beseech last ruth.” I stared through teary eyes. ~Yi hayelma, o’stiahi-stimi kiaeve Nivauea eisryea?” - “If we do so, how can I ever meet Nivaue your wifemate?” Nellos answered I should tell her that he had served our city as Nivaue had bidden, and that with his last word he had sung her name. Helplessly I sobbed and kissed his brow. After Nellos swooned ailsomely, since his mood would not offswayed, I went to our headreeves and told the news. Both Lady Ilyoel and Ashi touched breasts and whispered hymn. Then Ashi spoke her sith has a rider likewise ailing. Lady Ilyoel asked Nellos’s wounds. I answered that, even if he had not been bitten, they would be awful. Sorrily she nodded and said: ~Thalya sevaea-shyalam,~ - “We bless this doom.” With the lady-steadholder we came back to Nellos and gathered our flag. Like me, Lady Ilyoel sat, held his hand, and kissed his brow. ~O auma-sya inyaedam reara,~ - “By your blood we won the battle,” she thanked, and asked anything he wished. He beseeched merely water and repeated to bode love to Nivaue and their children. ~O’difi urealya-shyaliss areas Sonnas,~ she answered: “You shall rightly be named a hero of Son.” Then weepingly Lady Ilyoel nodded to us: ~A yaoma, o’loe ulinarya-shyae,~ - “As his flag, behave him worthily.” Then she left.

Lashunta Inspirational Memory - 2 years ago Artist: John Howe (fully expect folks to recognize this work) Back at the very beginning of the idea of Lashunta in PF1E, one of the first descriptions of them was: "The women look like Elves, and the men like Dwarves." Obviously things have changed a lot since then. Yet that comparison has stayed with me, even if I have worked against it. Yet what if we could make a different comparison for Korasha? Instead of Dwarves, what if we compared them to Orcs? I'm not talking about tusks or fangs. Rather, it's about body shape, going back to Lashunta's foundational inspiration from ERB's city of Opar and its hybrid ape-man warriors, and comparing that to JRR Tokien's descriptions of Orcs in LOTR (which gave us the modern concept), who were often described as stooped or shambling...rather how apes walk?? Yes. There's a strong element of prejudice in both of these origin groups, the belief that they're sub-human, an unworthy slander for Lashunta Korasha. And yet that prejudice is still reflected in the Lashunta Damaya Matriarchy, as established in PF1E (and which I have elected to propogate in my homebrew worldbuilding project, as a source of social conflict). So what should we compare Korasha to?

However, its subject is so morally inflammatory that it has been banned in many lashunta cities. It continues to survive underground in places like Nivaea and Qabarat, where dilettantes appreciate its noncomformist shock value. It tells of Zhiquael, the sister of Tess, who is captured as part of a moqeva raid and brought to Hoshiasa, and then is traded further southward to Yaethitha, where she becomes thrall to a powerful snakefolk lady and made part of her harem. She becomes the moqeva lady's lover and rises to a position of authority within the estate. She also bears a clutch of eggs sired by one of the male haremmates, which hatch into half-lashunta moqeva children. She chooses to stay with her ladylove's household and children, but assists other lashunta thralls rebelling against the moqeva, and who found Cursed Ylisaeua. Afterward, her subterfuge is discovered. Yet she willingly goes to her execution after her ladylove begs forgiveness and promises to keep her children safe. Scholars categorically judge the work as fantastical. However, Theiahe the author insisted it was inspired by a memory discovered within a soul-tree while visiting the ruined site of ancient Yaethitha. The story has engendered speculation that a lashunta slave-class might have existed under the moqeva's alien rule, and thus could explain the mystery of Cursed Ylisaeua. It has also led to wilder speculation of a secret remnant of half-moqeva survivors who can pass as lashunta. No scholarship takes this seriously, although inquisitors have been known to take an interest in anyone found with the book.

Lashunta Word of the Week Mihoeshassi: to bet; wager; enter or engage in a challenge Along with comprehending sport betting, this word may also refer to engagement in formal challenge, such as a duel or judicial combat. Although Lady Vaeol has engaged in more serious, life-threatening challenges, today’s wager with Captain Ashi as part of A Castrovel Adventure: Part 6, Chapter 26 is a friendly, flirtatious device, in which they casually challenge each other to see who can kill one of the banethings attacking. When they both succeed, and since they forgot to set the stakes, they share a kiss afterward with the phrase: ~Lome inyaeame,~ - “We all win.” This word has a complex etymology. The prefix ~mi-~ is an inclusive modifier, indicating a common or shared action. The root ~hoeshi~ is archaic in contemporary Lashunta and rarely occurs standalone. It means action or status as a champion, and itself is a contracted compound, deriving from ~ho~ against + ~heshi~ - service. Related Terms: Mihoeshi (spiritual): a betting, risk-taking, or gambling spirit or sentiment Mihoesha (common): a wager or bet; the terms defining the wager Mihoesho (neuter): stakes; the prize dependent on the wager’s outcome
