I seriously considered Valeria as a costume for the party tonight but I thought it would be too "I came as myself".
I made Aiko watch Carry On Screaming, now the whole household has seen it. And both maids immediately said that Valeria Watt is me.

The scene from the film. Director G.W. Pabst presented sex for Thymian, even as a prostitute, as a violation perpetrated on an unconscious victim by an unscrupulous man. Trivia: Pabst also cast Michael von Newlinsky as the scheming Marquis Casti-Piani in Pandora’s Box (1929).

Learned that an anonymous outside expert on submersibles did an interview with the OceanGate Titan investigation, and they released a transcript, with all the names redacted. The first line of his first answer? "I'm sure you're familiar with my film Titanic."

Now's the time to call up Visa/MC to ask 'hey, how come you guys will pay for ChatGPT and Twitter subs but I can't buy certain games off of Steam?' Because I frankly would LOVE an answer to that...
Sam Altman suggests ChatGPT is cannibalizing your fanfic and erotica to make its own clanker porn, rolling out this December.
ChatGPT just got filthy after new update lets it talk dirty to you
'You won't get it unless you ask for it.'

Louise in a still from The Canary Murder Case (1929).
Roofman: Nothing to do today so went to an afternoon screening. It's fine. Not quite self aware enough for a film about a sociopath convincing you he's the good guy. Three stars.
The Lost Boys: First time watching this. Maybe I'd have loved it if I'd seen it at 15. Finally come to this legendary vampire movie, and oh... It's a kids' movie. Blood and swearing doesn't make it not a kids' movie. Some nice cinematography I guess. 3.5 stars.
The Blood on Satan's Claw: I only really knew this one for the title, and it blindsided me. I love English pastoral horror in particular and this might be the best possible example of the subgenre. Horribly spellbinding.
Other films seen recently:
Frankenstein Created Woman: I have so much to say about this I think I might finally have to write a Letterboxd review. Short version: Trans Frankenstein. In 1967. With some lines that feel impossibly knowing.
And yeah, broke my no Disney rule. I think after ten years I'm allowed one exception.
Tonight I got my very own private cinema screening of Hocus Pocus. I've been scouring the listings and found one that still wasn't booked at the last minute. I brought candy corn and cried and I regret nothing.

Reminder to our international friends that under no circumstances should you be travelling to the United States. Avoid all unnecessary or leisure travel for your safety and privacy. Palantir doesn’t stop spying on you once you leave the country and it puts your nation at risk. Be aware.
The international boycott on the US under Trump continues. We call on our international allies to continue boycotting the United States. Canada alone has reduced alcohol purchases by 85%.

The US is welcome to join us by launching a general strike. #3E #BoycottUSA
