Just finished this & I have QUESTIONS!!

Did I miss some things? Anne got the job, so what is Gil going to do? Is he even living in NY?
What about the icky professor-does he still have his job?
I enjoyed this but when it ended tonight, I felt like a couple more chapters were needed. 💙📚

My review of ANNE OF MANHATTAN is on IG/SG. Anne Shirley is a grad student in NYC. She & Diana run into Gilbert Blythe in a bar. He’s back to finish school & they work on a project together. Matthew & Marilla own a Long Island vineyard. Anne & Gil forever! It’s a sweet retelling with some spice. 🌶️📚💙

This shorty usually used my shortness as a reason why hats weren't allowed, rather than Victorian manners. But Good point! I've gone to bat many times for unfair dress rules (boys can, girls can't) and hats in a theater should have fallen squarely in there. Thanks for the new perspective.

Same - cannot begin to count how many times I've stood at a stage door telling men (and boys and girls) to remove their hats in the theatre. Educating is one things but these are middle-aged women who know better and are proud of breaking the rules. 🤬

On one level I agree, but every theatre, from community level up to the Royal Shakespeare Co (which this is), gives announcements "strictly prohibiting" such behavior. These are grown ass women who know better (they say so in the post) & do it anyway. 🤬

😂 Not once have I ever taken a photo or recorded anything during a performance. A couple of rehearsal things or warmup sound videos but damn...that would be one fast way to end my playing with a theatre!

Faith’s incessant shrieks of joy pulled Claire from her office and the neverending mountain of charts needing to be updated into the late afternoon autumn glow. After some searching, she found Jamie and their three-year-old on the edge of the forest that lined their backyard, piles of leaves taller than Faith dotting the tree line.

“I never understood why people bothered with raking up free fertilizer,” Jamie started, wrapping his arm around her waist. “But,” he added as Faith ran happily screaming into one of the piles, flinging herself down, leaves flying everywhere, “I am starting to understand the appeal.”
