I slept on Expedition 33's act 3 and I'm even more frustrated with it. Just weird to see all the themes established in the early game discarded and abandoned. Like retroactively devaluing the fun I was having early on. To the point where I think my GoTY is DK Bananza which nailed its own landing.

The Expedition 33 endings are kind of meh. Reminds me of Mass Effect 3 in a way where it gets tunnel vision and forgets how the game started and got here. It's GoTY, make no mistake, but the writing asking you to overlook the genocide happening in the background is pretty clumsy.

With how Foote and Rutherford are worried about young players being criticized I got to wonder what the fuck CMac is telling them.

The third act of Expedition 33's narratives seems to be at odds with the earlier of the game. Some thought about how these creators have a responsibility to their creations would be nice, it's not purely escapist grief to fight for them.
