I noticed ages ago that 恵比寿 had a hidden 寿 but I did not notice that the god for whom Yebisu beer was named (that lent its name to the district) also had one!

Halfway through The Future by Naomi Alderman and i’m so annoyed because this is exactly the theme and the plot point that I used in The Light Eaters but also excited because Alderman has written a way better, denser, more engaging book than I could have

The UK is considering a policy that would effectively segregate trans people from society. It would bar trans people from "single sex spaces" even when they use the facility of their sex assigned at birth.

Am I going crazy, that I can distinctly remember a painting of The Twa Corbies done in pre-Raphaelite style (not this one, it's more blue and the dead knight is lying in a briar patch)

This is really corny, but I tried practicing ‘loving kindness meditation’ for 10 minutes (supp to be good for PTSD) and immediately burst into tears. I am not a cryer at all. It felt awful. I don’t know if this is how it’s supposed to work at all?

This is really corny, but I tried practicing ‘loving kindness meditation’ for 10 minutes (supp to be good for PTSD) and immediately burst into tears. I am not a cryer at all. It felt awful. I don’t know if this is how it’s supposed to work at all?
