Something I've noticed with DC heroes is that the writers have always tried to hype up the "2nd generation" characters as being better or stronger than the previous.

A personal tick I have about shonen storytelling is that the timeline of events feels so squished. Like a hundred chapters can go by but for the characters it would only have been 1 day in real time.

A massive annoyance I have when companies remake/remaster games is that they arbitrarily exclude content that was present in previous versions. With the excuse they give is that they're "remaking the original game faithfully".

One thing I really enjoy about Demon Slayer that's not replicated in other shonen anime is that each encounter feels genuinely dangerous.
The good guys feel like perpetual underdogs since they're normal humans and can die with any clean hit from a demon.
