Redesigning Kuff n Klout

Promotional render of the Kuff n Klout Twins. Which one is who, we never know. And that's why I'm redesigning this burly brutes.

Some of the oldest Punch and Judy puppets. Throughout historical times, puppets, and to say circus clowns, have always put a smile to everyone's face throughout the world. ... Well... Almost everybody.

Clowns aren't everyone's taste. In fact, some are downright terrified of clowns, even though the act isn't by any means malicious. This is capitalized in other media, from Pennywise from Stephen King's "IT," to The Joker from DC Comics.

And so, in this redesign, I make them not only as clowns, I also made them distinguished from each other. In a nod to Flotsam and Jetsam from The Little Mermaid, Kuff's left eye and Klout's right eye are a brown color while the other eye is purple and green respectively.

Redesigning Bazuka

Promotional render for Bazuka. This small, draconic Kremling, wielding his one namesake. It's little wonder he can hold it for this long.

So what could I do to redesign him?

A partially damaged T-800 robot from the original Terminator movie. I dabbled a little into the idea of making Bazuka into a cyborg, but I couldn't find a balance this way.

Then I realized, with the Super Nintendo came Super Metroid. And to date, I never recalled any references to Metroid in any other SNES game.

Thus, this one time for now, I incorporated pop culture and game Bazuka the Chozo Armor. Specifically, the gravity suit to not clash with his red scales. And while he may have the Power Blaster, it still only shoots barrels and cannonballs.

Redesigning Kopter

Promotional render for Kopter. This one too has something fun to look at; just a little guy that can fly through the air by just spinning around with propellors in hand. As with Bazuka, they are indestructible.

Promotional image for Krook from DKC2. Why do I bring this up, you may ask? Well, remember how I'm going with the horror genre with these redesigns?

Instead of holding onto the propellors, Kopter's lower arms *are* the propellors in this redesign. As with Kutlass and the redesign of Kobble, letting them make the first move is the best option. And that's still only on land when you can best them. They still do fly and are indestructible as such.

Redesigning Re-Koil

Original Promotional Renders of Re-Koil. Of the original designs here, this one actually looks fun to look at. Bouncing on a springy tail which may be why they have a goofy look to them. Sufficed to say, I can continue to push the design.

The history of the Chuck E. Cheese animatronic over the years. Designs change, robotics and programming upgraded. Like with clowns, they aren't every kids' cup of tea, to the point that one kid became inspired to make Five Knights at Freddy's.

And thus giving me the inspiration to redesign Re-Koil as an animatronic set loose. The eyeballs still stay googly to give the impression of, say, Cookie Monster from Sesame Street. A shirt with a letter K hides what else is underneath. There would be a second variety hiding in a box that would surprise you (not in any way to confuse with Mad Jack from DK64).

Redesigning Knocka et al.

The original design for Knocka and friends. The games answer to the Klobbers from DKC2, only now they stay in the barrel entirely. Some climb, explode on contact, and throw bombs.

Promotional render for the first boss of DKC3, Belcha. The reason I bring this up is because if K. Rool made this as he did with KAOS, surely he'd make barrel type enemies on a smaller scale, right?

Thus bringing me to redesigning the enemy(s) themselves to resemble the boss in question. They are no longer a Kremling in a barrel, but a robot, and may give off Futurama vibes.
