If Penn kids could read they'd be very upset

The whole thread is this guy pretending that everyone in the third world is a communist university student.

"everyone" is doing a lot of work here. Half the people in my country would have vague sense at best of who was involved in WW2, and of the other half more of them would answer "the US" than "the USSR/Russia" if you asked them who won the war.

I mean, the idea makes sense but I would not trust Musk to be responsible with the implementation details. He would for sure fake a demo of a Neuralink patient talking if he thought it'd help the company.

My MIL has basically this same story (minus the crisis of faith). Always did think of it as something an old lady would say.

"if this is so, which it is", "- DO SOMETHING!!" he's still got it folks.

The abstract even throws right wingers a bone by saying boys of lower socio-economic backgrounds are disruptive!

"high income", and "in grad school". Hmm...

Conscientiousness ain't got nothing to do with it.

it’s time for universities to return to their core mission (an escalating series of pranks played by a trouble-making fraternity on the straight-edge dean who will stop at nothing to shut them down)

there's at least one trans person in the town and by god they won't rest until they find them!

friend who works at Google remarked recently how he hasn't been to an offsite in years because they always coincide with his kid's holidays, his wife's birthday, etc.

Even if cops were recent: that's not even remotely a good reason for getting rid of them! You can say the same thing about a bunch of important institutions.

Trump himself was a vaccine skeptic before his first term no? The famous "AUTISM!" tweet is from before he ran IIRC

But why did the wave pass? Did FB marketplace go away?

hmm probably top 15% most libertarian but that results in some "left" and "right" positions mixed in.

So Matt realized his policy preferences were out of step with the American public and is advocating for the Democratic party to move closer to the public's preferred policy. Isn't that exactly what he said he is doing?

of the three issues he highlighted (climate vs cheap energy, laxer vs more restrictive immigration, less vs more gender norms), he's arguing for dems to take the less libertarian position on 2 out of 3 (immigration and gender norms).
