I know Egypt doesn't want to get involved, but they are in a unique position to flood Gaza with aid. They have an obligation to do so. If Israel insists on stopping them by force, then everything is off the table. UN expulsion, diplomatic and economic isolation. Bibi's only ally is the White House.
SIMPLE THINGS.
FOOD. WATER. MEDICAL SUPPLIES.
These are basic needs, not materials to make weapons.
The fact that Israel is blocking basic needs is not at matter of national security. This is a deliberate act of collective punishment and Genocide.
I see stories like this all the time. You can blame Hamas or whoever. But if I was an Israeli citizen living just across the wall with Gaza, sipping wine and eating a hearty meal of the kosher beef of my choice while this is going on next door. I honestly don't think I could live with myself.
Israel’s genocide and illegal blockade have caused a severe water shortage in Gaza.

Even before Israel began its bombardment in 2023, Israel’s blockade ensured only 10% of Gaza had access to clean and safe drinking water.
Gaza Strip faces a severe water shortage, despite ceasefire
Israel's destruction of wells and continued restrictions on fuel supply hinder recovery of Gaza's water system, with the Strip only receiving 15 percent of its water needs

Zohran was polling at six percent in January. Nothing is impossible
Hold on, let me guess. Brazil? *Sarcasm*

There's gonna be daily fake AI videos of subway violence running on Fox News. I'm willing to bet they'll do a segment on NYC crime at least 3 nights a week after January 1 when they swear in Zohran.
NYC is going to have the world's biggest media-manufactured crime panic in history the second Mamdani is elected. They aren't even going to wait until he is inaugurated. Whether or not you like the guy, you need to start preparing now for the fire hose of disinformation that is about to activate.

The buses are not the subways! The mayor controls the streets. He has a lot of tools at his disposal to make the buses faster. He can't do a single thing to make the subways go faster.

This is uninformed nonsense from The Times' Editorial Board. Are they prohibited from picking up the phone and calling one of their Metro desk colleagues who could explain how things work? Dana, Emma and Stefanos could all answer the question "who is in charge of the subways?"

“I am a Democratic socialist…I refuse to apologize…”

- Zohran Mamdani in his victory speech
Where I live (New York State), Sheriff's are publicly elected by the people, unlike State Police or local cops. Nevertheless I've never had a problem with any of them.
I hope Elon OD's on Ketamine
You don’t get to name your kid X Æ A-12 and then say “or whatever his name is” about anyone else.
Elon Musk endorses Cuomo for mayor of New York and makes sure to add some racism in there: “…Mumdumi or whatever his name is.”
Notice how they instantly draw their guns too. Some innocent person is going to get shot by these goons.
It gets worse, in my part of Suffolk County there's only one contested race, for a judge of course. They've been called "Zombie Elections".
Seeing a ballot with the same peoples names on all party lines uncontested gets demoralizing very fast.

Anyway there’s a million waiting to replace them. A tale as old as time.
President makes a decree, Congress is too divided to do anything about it, Supreme Court upholds the decree, disregarding all precedent.
This is how a democracy dies.
And the Supreme Court of the Judicial branch doesn't seem to give a shit about constitutional integrity. They have a magic gavel that can nullify any statute they want, and they answer to nobody. There are no checks and balances anymore.
I was taught in school that the federal government was based on checks and balances, that no branch of government could override another. Clearly that is no longer the case. Congress is divided and powerless, the Executive is a mad king who rules by decree (sorry "Executive Orders")
This is the new reality, why bother convincing Congress to repeal century old statutes you don't like when your friends in the Supreme Court can just magically make them disappear?
The Supreme Court should not have the power to wave their magic gavel and straight up repeal the 14th Amendment. Or any part of the Constitution. That is explicitly the job of Congress alone.

New York is not, and never will be, Las Vegas. Nor should it be. Give it up and build homes instead.
State governments love gambling and the lottery because of the tax revenue it brings in, but they don't like to draw attention to the fact that the revenue is lost due to the social consequences of gambling. Not just the addiction itself, but the desperation and bankruptcies that follow.
some victims of online betting who don’t get enough attention are the families of gamblers, including their kids. they aren’t playing, but they still get stuck with the consequences, from domestic violence to bankruptcy and losing their homes
'The explosive growth in sports gambling is bad for sports, and - most important - it has proved to be bad for millions of Americans who gamble past the point of prudence and move directly to the point of pain. The sports gambling revolution needs more regulation. It may even need termination.'

They're demonizing SNAP and other recipients of federal aid on right wing media.

Of 21 million federal aid beneficiaries, ~70% work full-time and 39% of SNAP beneficiaries are children. Critics need to ask Amazon and Walmart why they won't pay enough for their employees to survive w/o food stamps.
The amount of effort going into the character assassination of Mandami is unreal.
Seriously, would we be having this kind of conversation if he was Christian or Hindu?
Wow who could the foreign intelligence service possibly be
The New York Post claims to have been given a foreign intelligence service's documents on Zohran Mamdani and the worst accusations they could spin up from it is that Zohran is loosely affiliated with another American Muslim.
You're telling me the largest city in the US also happens to have the largest population of any given religious group? How could I have guessed!?
