The Stern Electronics widebody games had so many cool, unique features. Viper has a turret in the center of the playfield that begins to turn when the ball enters it. Players use a button to aim and fire the ball.

Varkon is a pinball machine with an upper & lower playfield stuffed into an upright arcade cabinet. It uses dual joysticks instead of buttons to control the flippers. The playfield is angled away from the front but mirrors make it appear to be vertical. The score appears on a heads-up display

Released by Namco for Japan in 1979, they reached a distribution agreement with Midway for North America in 1980. It became one of the best-selling arcade games of all-time at over 50,000 units by 1982.

I LOVE Gauntlet. Gauntlet II is basically an expanded version of the original game. The additions include the ability for players to choose the same character, new levels, different power-ups and a new monster called “It.”
