The only sequel to the Michael Myers saga that I think is a worthy follow-up is the 2018 soft reboot. That movie is fantastic. (And even that got two progressively worse sequels that I can ignore.)

Don't get me wrong, the first movie definitely vibes with the holiday. But making the franchise centered on this one slasher story with diminishing return sequels robs so much potential.

It would've been a franchise that truly celebrated the holiday. Most of the sequels just use Halloween as a setting out of obligation. Season of the Witch is actually *about* Halloween. What a novel concept.

The Halloween movie franchise would've been so much better if they went down the anthology path. Instead of rehashing Michael Myers - which itself worked best as a single self-contained story - we could've gotten a variety of new stories and iconic characters.

I was fortunate to sell Solar and LD basically at the same time around 6 years ago. I became a leader of my own shows for the first time-I learned a lot as a writer and producer across these seasons. Im beyond grateful to the ton of talented artists who had my back.
