For #WIPWednesday, I've got the back of my Miss BB cardigan by Bonnie Marie Burns. I'm almost finished with the first sleeve also. I'm using Cascade 220 in a brown color with subtle flecks of green. It's very pretty. I'm proud of myself for tackling another cabled project! #knitsky #knitting

I'm so tired of living in a real-life twilight zone where every day brings yet another dose of stupidity and corruption. 🤬 So I'm escaping to my own much-less-scary Twilight Zone marathon. Grateful for my public library! #tv #scifi

I took a bag of hand-knitted hats & scarves to my LYS today & was thrilled to see that they have collected 100s of items for unhoused charities. Definitely feels good to contribute like this! (Spun in Ann Arbor, MI) 🧶♥️ #knitsky #charity (I also spent way too much $$$ there today!)

I dreamed about this yarn last night, after blocking my Panorama stole, and that sealed my decision to splurge on a sweater quantity at my LYS this week. Yarn is Acadia by Fiber Co., a luscious blend of wool, alpaca & silk. Hoping tonight's snow storm won't delay my trip to Ann Arbor. #knitsky 🧶

Hey #knitsky, need help finding a DK weight wool for a cardigan. I've searched online and every time I think I've found a good one, almost all of the Ravelry comments on the yarns are negative. Do you have any faves to suggest? Needs to be available in the US. #yarn #knitting

It's turkey day 🦃 but I'm playing yarn chicken! 🐔 Figured out a brilliant solution, to weigh the remaining yarn after each row to be more confident that I'll have enough to finish the last few rows of the scarf. Feeling smart, #knitsky! #knitting #wip Details in alt text.

Just saw "Rental Family" and found it heartwarming and thought-provoking. And it was great to see all the scenes of Tokyo again. I spent 5 years there in my twenties, (long ago) and consider Japan a second home. I miss it a lot. Such a fascinating culture. 🇯🇵⛩️🗾🍱 #movies apnews.com/article/rent...
Movie Review: Brendan Fraser is a middling actor with a winning heart in sweet drama ‘Rental Family’
In "Rental Family," Brendan Fraser plays a mediocre American actor struggling to get work in Tokyo after once scoring it big with a toothpaste commercial.

Just watched "Train Dreams" on Netflix and have to say that I haven't enjoyed a movie this much in a VERY long time. What a beautiful story about life, love, and our place in the world. Savor this one. #movies youtu.be/HyRdazbYKgY?...

For this week's WIP theme for #showmeyourknits, I'm finally into the colorwork yoke of my Dagna Cardigan! It's always fun to see the pattern emerge one row at a time. 🧶💚 #knitsky #knitting #strandedknitting

Just finished my 3rd version of the "Close to You" scarf and this is the first time I noticed it called for a picot bind off. 🤪 The 2nd picture is one I took this morning in NW Ohio, our first snow of the season. I'm calling it "The Joy of Overlapping Seasons." Boo on soggy leaves. 😢 #knitsky #snow

Cancelled my Spotify premium because they're running ads for ICE, which means they're supporting the horrific illegal attacks on Americans. Took me less than 2 minutes to cancel AND transfer all of my playlists to Tidal. Easy peasy and felt great. Should have done it a long time ago. #cancelspotify
Do you use Spotify Premium? Cancel your subscription until Spotify stops running ICE ads. There are other streaming options that don’t profit from exploiting artists while recruiting for ICE: indivisible.org/cancel-spoti... #CancelSpotify

I donated to my local food bank and I hope you'll consider it too When SNAP benefits are cut off next week, millions of our neighbors are going to struggle to feed their families. This should never happen in America and we should pull together to help them. 😢
This is an emergency. This is about families being able to put food on the table and about the stability of our communities. We need immediate action to restore SNAP benefits.

Trump is throwing 15 million Americans off health care.

He's doubling premiums for 20 million Americans.

Now, he's refusing to use a $5 billion emergency SNAP fund to keep 16 million kids from going hungry.

But the 1% keep $1 trillion in tax breaks.

Oligarchy in action.

If I were running the DNC, there would be Democratic Party sponsored food relief banks across the country right now that specifically welcomed anyone regardless of party affiliation.

Along with the food, there could be voter registration and links to runforsomething.net

As SNAP benefits are cut, this should be something we demand of state governors to do with their states national guard.

Food banks & other forms of community aid will feel the stress caused by these cuts. There will undoubtedly be understaffing and shortages, this is one way we can prepare for this
Now THIS is a mission the National Guard can be proud of. 🙌

This week's #showmeyourknits inspired me to start making hats for charity, something I haven't done for quite a few years. These are the two I made so far this week, modeled by my Vermont teddy bear whose head is too small. These will go to the unhoused in southeast Michigan next month. ♥️ #knitsky

Even my mail is pissing me off these days. 🤬 What was @aarpfoundation.bsky.social thinking, putting Stallone on the cover as an "American icon" ? 🤮 He's as M@GA as they come, and I had to block out his face before I could even consider reading this issue. Still might not.... #boohiss #aarp

Why is Vought’s role as Trump’s budget director so key to the president’s plans?

“Every goddam thing in the executive branch goes through OMB,” a former official explained. The agency is the choke point for $7 trillion in federal spending.
