films a complex, terrifying and inhuman medium. i hate youtubes goal of making internet video seem natural and its stars relatable like its off the cuff. every moment of a video is measured and operated & i think its a shame that genuinely human moments are cut in favor of disingenuously human ones

this bleeds into any film really. especially in amateur stuff the little almost imperceptible genuinely frightened look an actor gives to the camera in the brief moment before theyre fully in character is really really good. humanizing in some way. shame theyre cut out so the film is "watchable"

the first line in recording voiceover for youtube videos is so scary. you need to go from pure silence to Youtuber Voice in like milliseconds and even if you arent being super obnoxious mr beast mode about it its still very jarring and intimidating. i adore that little moment
