i like many things about Itch and they are no doubt better than Steam, that's for sure. but they did really fuck up on that one and didn't need defending. and i continue to be disturbed by how much people in the indie world displace all their values onto particular platforms

i have a real hard time with some people's apparently strongly held beliefs that adult game makers getting upset at itch was a nefarious organized plot to do horrible violence on the indie community instead of an expected response by some people to getting their games banned randomly

they're a total black box. some suspect games get approved just fine some innocuous games get trapped in the hell dimension and no one knows why. the only consistent themes is if you have anything even slightly gay you're playing russian roulette on hard mode
