Conservative politicians and complaining drivers harangued Mayor Adams into allowing cars back inside parts of Forest Park in Queens and Silver Lake Park on Staten Island for the first time in five years. Mayor Mamdani can — and must — reverse these decisions, advocates say.

Mayor Mamdani should remove cars from two roads inside New York City parks where then-Mayor Eric Adams opened the gates to motorists.

Dismissing the very idea Trump could "cancel" the next election when he has said he wants to and when there are almost certainly people in the White House working on some vision for exactly that is just stupid.

What I'm saying is that it's facile to dismiss everyone concerned about a skewed election as doomers squawking irrationally about it being "cancelled." I take that term -- like so many slogans -- as just a shorthand for skewing the election to unfairly maintain his R trifecta.

Trump can make elections in sympathetic states not meet the definition of free and fair. (Remember, Dems would need to keep GA and flip 4 other states.) Johnson and Thune and Vance can make sure that a new Congress doesn’t go into effect. Trump cannot cancel local elections in NY or CA, but so what?

This comes out 1 day after a @rhg.com US emissions update that *explicitly* names DCs as a core cause of rising GHGs

The laws of armed conflict forbid combatants from feigning civilian status.

Helmet laws make riding less common. Those people are then more likely to use cars. Nobody makes people in cars wear helmets, even if cars cause *far* more injuries—and death. (True even with a seatbelt.) Cars hurt innocent bystanders.

They do not want to save more lives. It is bad-faith arguing.

The United States has the fewest elevators in the rich world, with Canada only a bit ahead. We teamed up with @uytaelee.bsky.social of About Here Videos to investigate why, exactly, North America sucks at elevators.
