I’d probably need subtitles too so that would kind of defeat the object 😄

*solder* not sold of course
kevadams.bsky.social
I use a soldering iron with a temperature control and adjust and wait until sold instantly melts. It’s pretty much set at the high end. Almost certain it was from Maplin back in the day but the tip has lasted really well. Non-replaceable too so a good job.

Probably not past tense either, despite avoiding their writing as much as possible 😆

I loved them calling out the music press too, way before I joined. Don’t forget this was the Burchill and Parsons era when many of the music press were less interested in the music than themselves.

I joined KR’s group in 1981 but we didn’t sit in the corner waiting to be given our chores every day 😆

It was a particularly enthusiastic A&R person who shall not be named but insisted Liars would be a great single.
kevadams.bsky.social
The Celtic’s re-release wasn’t a great choice but worst of all was Liars A-E, all with hindsight etc.
kevadams.bsky.social
Cheers I love that too. KR once said why was that never a single, seems obvious in retrospect but must have seemed too “of the previous times” back then? I think he was right too?

NEW: The British politician, his Russian intelligence handler & a Kremlin plot against the US & Ukraine.

My new piece about Nathan Gill and Nigel Farage for @thenerve_news in which we ask:

Why, even now, is no-one asking questions?

Joe Wicks/Alan Partridge “Is it the job of the Government to make sure we have a healthy diet? The answer is yes!”

I didn’t choose this tv myself incidentally 😆 I would have probably gone for the full Partridge.

It’s what the little baby Jesus would have wanted, aw…

Yeah absolutely agree, add Leeds and Brighton too amongst many others. I just mean that for a kind of electronic music these three places are buzzing 🎶
I mostly head to Birmingham these days but that scene fell off a cliff in 2002, so all the more important to support what we have now 👌

Great read. Said this no end of times but that scene in Bristol sounds (quite literally) amazing. Bristol, Glasgow and Sheffield seem to be the UK epicentres of electronic music?

Superb. Favourite album of 1981 that, probably the last vinyl album I can remember the trip to the shop to collect and take home, excited for the first listen. From what I imagine in my head was “the first vinyl era” 😄

I meant to catch up on that.

Listening to The Pleasure Principle while reading the Gary Numan article in Electronic Sound and Asylum is superb isn’t it?

Only GN record I ever bought was Cars for my little brother trying to tempt him away from the Wombles and Star Wars theme album - on repeat 😆

Bargain and no doubt the screen will be huge.

There’s a new Warrington-Runcorn Newtown Development Plan album out today, I snagged a Kraftwerk ticket and Trump didn’t win (what would have been frankly quite absurd) the Nobel Peace Prize.
Happy Friday 😊

I totally missed the pre-sale, thought I’d missed the lot by about 9:17am today but those prices must’ve put people off?
kevadams.bsky.social
Managed to get a ticket for Kraftwerk at The Halls (the old Civic) Wolverhampton. Prices jumping all over the shop though, saw them at £165 restricted view at one point 😬
Nabbed a much better seat a lot less. You horror Ticketmaster.
kevadams.bsky.social
I was too late for a ticket for that Sy.Gigs wasn’t it?

Those Make Much Wenlock Weird nights were amazing. Home by 11pm too 😄
