i finally have a sort of minimum amount of game created for my #LewdieJam game. obviously everything is still very wip.

i'm not convinced i will actually be able to finish it in time for the jam, but i will probably finish it eventually.

just got a payout from itch that i requested a week ago. there's a lot of misinformation going around about itch, so i want to be clear that itch is currently allowing me to:

- sell my porn work
- display it on my profile page
- receive money for it

...and man, do i really not like microblogging platforms lmao. i have a lot of words i want to write.

i know brevity is the soul of wit and such. but like. i can't even fit a thesis statement about any of my games into one post here.

it's too bad i don't seem to have a lot of energy for Lewdie Jam. i started working on a little project maybe 5 days ago and really have not made much progress. but i do think it's a pretty cool & chill idea.

hopefully i will at least ship it someday. not sure if i will be able to make the jam.

the thing that fascinates me about "discourse," as a whole, is that you cannot post a reply to someone disagreeing with them without being brushed off. even if they have made a serious factual error.

you are wrong because you are disagreeing. your words will never be read with any consideration.

"I'm gonna dump all my pent up angst and infodump material into a blog post about Itch/payment processing" I say to myself. It ends up like a million words, oops.

it strikes me as odd that the original trans news network article didn't quote a single person who was pretty happy with itch, all things considered.

i dunno man. there's a number of folks i tend to respect who just seem to be completely misinformed on the itch situation, and i'm just not sure what to do with that.

like, if someone can't seem to sort through this situation, can i trust their take on other stuff?

there is a particular element of this conversation that i find fascinating. some replies to this post are saying itch should not communicate in public.

and my question is why?

so, i know this is ridiculous, to have finally been spurred to create a bsky account just to jump in drama about itch.io.

but i want to put a bit of positivity out there. so, why not, right.

i want to say it is absolutely incredible what itch.io does & is doing for creators, even right now!
