I'm a little more than half-way done with Dungeon Crawler Carl. It's a fun read. The pacing is good and there's really no text that isn't relevant. It feels like every bit of text has a purpose.

Sometimes you'll be like "I wonder if this would work" and the story will eventually tell you.

I played through Lucifer Within Us and it's very neat. It's short, but it's a steal with the current sale. Absolutely worth picking up just for the novelty of it.

I'd love to see more games with these mechanics. I'd also like more of this setting.

I think I prefer the Discover feed over the For You feed. Discover is imperfect, but there's no "discourse", no main character. For You just feels like all the faults of Twitter... and we all saw how that worked out.

I started reading Dungeon Crawler Carl and it's off to a good start. I figured I'd check out the litRPG genre, which is basically familiar if you've watched/read isekai in the past couple of decades.

The book is very reminiscent of "Mojoverse".

Digimon Beatbreak has been pretty good. It feels closer to Cyber Sleuth / Time Stranger than it does the old anime series. The setting and plot would have made for a good game itself even.

I grew up in NH and frequently think about the Cheshire Rail Trail. It's wild that society abandoned rail in favor of a highway.
As someone who used to have a long car commute, I can just feel the crushing weight of that in so many of these comments. It takes a toll. And yet we still have not built the requisite housing or transit connections to reduce this commuting burden.
For many New Englanders, working in Boston means an exhausting commute - The Boston Globe
People aspire to have a good job, an affordable home, and an easy commute. Possessing all three in Greater Boston is a fleeting luxury.

What did you think the 00 was in Gundam 00? Because the answer is bagels.
Bagel Guillotine is a Gundam name.

I watched the Phoenician Scheme. Great film. It's beautiful, well-paced, funny, and interesting. I like it more than The Grand Budapest Hotel but it doesn't unseat The French Dispatch as my favorite.

Also, I love the costumes. Everyone looks fabulous.

Good god, the term AI is absolutely poisoned. I've now seen an article claiming Blue Prince used genAI (no evidence) but they also claim every game does by lumping in behavioral AI and procedural generation in with genAI.

Anyway, prepare for some awful discourse. It's probably already here.

I regularly think about how great the design of Kingsway is. It's just so good.

More games need to be wild with their music choices. The soundtrack for Pit People had such wild energy. Easily one of my favorites.

From my own experience, I'd be willing to bet they haven't accepted it, they simply don't have the energy to keep arguing.

Was playing #untitledgoosegame for the kids recently. Always thought a sequel with the #goose getting into shenanigans in different time periods would be fun.

Total War 40K looks neat, but I'd be way more interested if it was Total War: Battlefleet Gothic.

Today I'll have to focus on just being happy for Expedition 33 (it deserves the win).

I might lose a bit of sanity with the people (who don't play JRPGs) saying it's genre-defining and revolutionary though.

Ultimate Exorcist Kiyoshi isn't amazing, but there's clear passion in the work and I'm enjoying it. It wears its influences out in the open and that's just part of the charm.

took a crack at disfiguring the Famicom Final Fantasy box covers into an NES-style box size to fit better alongside other games (not short and wide). a bit weird at first but i think they mostly work. the first one is a nice multicultural mashup cover

I had already started building an interest in software engineering, but this book is what really got me going. Game AI is fun stuff, it's like learning the secrets behind a magic trick.

Was a good education on how AI is all smoke & mirrors and it continues to be true.

Armored Core 6 is neat, but I think the game gets less interesting as it goes along. Each fight is just less interesting than the last. The giant helicopter is the coolest, followed by punching a helicarrier mid-flight.
