Day 16 of #PlotTober

Isaivalan's sudden death is the inciting incident of I Lucid You. It's what keeps the wheels running in Pirai Nila's life. Her journey into metaphysics starts from there.

Meanwhile, for Amrit Swaroop, it is the sudden appearance of a strange woman in his dreams.

16. Let's rewind back to Act 1 and explore the Inciting Incident. What are some ways the MC could realize something is different about their world/life without necessarily taking action yet? For example, a sudden death, a strange encounter, a mysterious letter, a lottery gone wrong.

Maya looked straight at Pasha and said, ‘Yes, I heard Anuj say her name recently... It might have been some other Saudamini, I’m not sure. But he definitely told me that name.’
‘That’s crazy!’ Jessica exclaimed, while Pasha giggled.
‘I am totally here for the idea of Anuj trying to enforce his orthodox opinions on another unsuspecting woman,’ said Pasha, grinning diabolically.
A spectacular skyspread-
Grey fluffs interspersed
with swan-like white fluffs,
against the metallic-blue
of the early evening.
An unearthly sight to behold
while crossing the railway tracks.
Yet it reminds us-
Awe could be stirred at any time.

Day 15 of #PlotTober (missed out yesterday, sniff)

I do have a few ideas for the midpoint of I Lucid You. Amrit Swaroop would meet Pirai Nila to discuss sending Pirai's dream-self back to her dreamscape. But Pirai wouldn't want it anymore because she has found a better way to solve her worries.

15. The midpoint of the story serves two purposes: (1) it reveals critical information to the MC and (2) causes the MC to confront both who they used to be and who they need to become to grow, change, and/or achieve their goals. What are some ways you could do this?

Yesterday, I wrote a poem as Kavya Janani after 8 months ✨

WRITING A POEM

Brick by brick, a poem is constructed from the broken shards of an aching soul.

Stoking the excruciating embers still stuck to all the ventricles, in the aftermath of trauma-grief-heartbreak, What comes out is still luscious honey, the sun-gold verses crackling in the parched throats of readers.

Every poem is a poet's silent war, a haven of meditation for the soul, when everything else becomes too much to carry in fatigued hearts and brains.

There was a jug of water on the bedside table. Maya put it to her lips and gulped thirstily, spilling some water on herself. Her heartbeats had not yet returned to normal. Tears were rolling down her cheeks but she did not care to wipe them away. All she needed were answers. Because this could NOT be happening.
Day 15 of #TimeTravelAuthors

‘She just wanted me to use it and give her some real-time feedback.’ Maya explained.

‘What? She… She gave it to you just like that?’ Nikhil was still unsettled. His voice quivered.

Day 14 of #PlotTober

The ending of I Lucid You is vague as of now. It all depends on whether Pirai Nila wants to invite love again into her life. Or whether she wants to stay connected to metaphysics to heal unconventionally.

Maya

Nikki thinks of me as his source of light. Pasha thinks of me as the sweetest and humblest human being to exist. Jessica thinks of me as her mule. Leela thinks of me as... Well... That'd be too revealing. Enough for now.

Barely visible to the eyes was a tiny red dot at the bottom. It looked like a logo, but was also a push button merged with the surface. Her heart racing, Maya pressed on it. But nothing happened. She tried two more times with the same result. She also realized that the button was placed where she could not easily reach it while using the device. However, she knew that that button was the reason she was back to 10:05 a.m. After all, the device was a time machine. It could reset time for both long and short bursts if it so wanted.
Day 13 of #PlotTober

The story begins with Pirai Nila's dream-self getting lost in Pirai's dreamscape. However much she commands for things to happen, the dreamscape remains unchanged. Finally, she opens a door in front of her and enters Amrit Swaroop's dreamscape.

Day 12 of #PlotTober

In I Lucid You, Pirai Nila's state of mind is the antagonist. She has to get to a trascendental state of mind to achieve her goals, but it takes time and she becomes consumed by grief too.

Amrit Swaroop's unstable dreamscape is also an antagonist to Pirai Nila's dream self.

Even back then, the individual days and events were not quite clear in her mind that she could choose a good day with conviction. The best she could do was give her past self enough time to have healed, based on the memories she had of the time, and hope that she was right and landed on a good day.
Day 11 of #PlotTober

I Lucid You

Pirai Nila's true progress lies in growing around her grief and she chooses the metaphysical path, one that most wouldn't dare to venture. But she learns that her path is tough and has its share of adventures and pitfalls.

Maya thought that Nikhil was avoiding her while he felt that she was giving him the cold shoulder for whatever reason. There was no clear starting point to this but it grew into a level that could not be explained away without mutual communication. And neither of them initiated that communication – not because of ego, but because they were unsure if it would be welcome.
Day 11 of #TimeTravelAuthors: Snippet with the word 'most'

#WriteSky #AmWriting #WritingCommunity #TimeTravel
Maya wondered what else she will have done if not for this timely help – especially as the country had crossed an entire demonetisation saga in the intervening years, making all her cash in the present literally useless in the past. It was not like she could use her debit cards during her time-travel trips – most of them were printed and activated much later than the years she travelled to and would probably not even be read by the machines.
Day 10 of #PlotTober

Pirai Nila's backstory is that of deep friendship, love, and loss. It is to reconnect with what she lost that she embarks on the metaphysical journey. To lose a connection of that kind is heartbreaking and Pirai becomes the person that she is because of her grief.

Day 9 of #PlotTober

Pirai Nila is compassionate, talented, interesting, and intriguing, but dense, which sometimes pulls her down.

Isaivalan is reserved, talented, and lovable. He tends to shut himself off sometimes.

Amrit Swaroop is witty, poetic, and sweet. He could be grumpy sometimes.

Day 8 of #PlotTober

I Lucid You

Grief is the only obstruction that doesn't let Pirai Nila achieve her goals easily. But everything unfolds naturally as she starts to believe and trust in the unknown by deconstructing her grief and finding the core of unconditional love she has for Isaivalan.
