A Bronx family lived without utilities for over 6 weeks after they were shut off without explanation.

Heartbreaking: Neo-soul legends Angie Stone and D’Angelo both passed away in 2025, just 7 months apart. Stone died in March at 63. D’Angelo died today at 51. They shared a son together. An entire generation’s soundtrack, gone. Rest in power to both 🕊️💔

Life lessons have to be taught do that they can be learned.

Let him know how many hours of work you have to do to pay for a replacement. Then show him what HE would likely be making at a job and how many hours HE would have to replace it. Split the difference in hours & that's how many he owes u.

My son has had 2 basketball hoops fall and break because he forgot to put water in them. When I bought his 3rd one, I said if he neglects it again- I'm pulling the cars out of the garage and we are putting on boxing gloves. Shit ain't never been empty again.

October is National Domestic Violence Awareness Month, and it's important that we talk about it... especially considering how prevalent it is in our society. 1 in 3 women and 1 in 4 men in the US experience intimate partner violence in their lifetime.

If you think you don't know anyone who's been personally impacted by domestic violence, you're likely mistaken ( if you've met me, then you do.)

One of the many things that perpetuates the cycle is silence. Survivors are often hesitant to come forward. Many women blame themselves for the abuse, and many men stay silent out of shame or fear of judgement.

This year, domestic violence has been a pretty common topic of discussion as more public figures, such as Cassie, Keke Palmer, Hailey Bailey, and Sha'Carri Richardson and their experiences have been thrust into the public eye. Unfortunately, many of these discussions include comments and jokes like "That could never be me" or "Why didn't they just leave?"

While I truly hope that none of you ever have to endure that kind of trauma, please remember: you probably know someone who has, or who currently is, living through it. They see and hear your dismissive remarks, and whether you realize it or not, that kind of talk contributes to keeping the cycle of violence alive.

Let's choose compassion over judgement. Listen, support and lead with empathy.. You never know who may need it

I can’t help but think today about how many young people were savaged on social media, branded as anti-semites and abandoned by their schools for daring to call for a ceasefire. I remember saying that it was the first time I can remember that calling for ceasefire was regarded as a hostile demand.
