I will never write the great American novel, but I did write the phrase "pelvis chickens" and that is enough for me. @mcsweeneys.net
"Perimenopause is triggered when your ovaries—or 'pelvis chickens'—quit dependably laying eggs each month. Maybe some months they lay eggs, but other months they just sit on the couch, drinking a nice Malbec, eating corn nuts, and watching Better Call Saul."

It is hard to put into words how this past week basically erased a decade’s worth of work to promote of acceptance of #ActuallyAutistic people and accommodate autism. But somehow Trump did more to promote fear and lies around autism than any other president.

Opinion | Trump’s reckless announcement linking Tylenol and autism is already doing major damage
Touting a possible cure with little evidence only gives loved ones of autistic people false hope.

Real Texas Laws starting in September: Municipal gun buy back programs are illegal, passing or enforcing red flag laws is illegal, sawed off shot guns are legal.
"The 3rd District blows Democratic votes away. We promise a chicken in every pot, a car in every garage and a firearm in every hand. Sawed-off shotguns are now legal in Texas. With this kind of leadership, how could anyone not want Texas Republicans to have more seats in the House?"

The awesome @erinmcreynolds.bsky.social and I have a satirical cartoon in the @bostonglobe.com today about budget cuts at NOAA. We created this piece well before the devastating floods here in central Texas. I'm happy for the piece to run, but I also share it with a heavy heart. ❤️ Link in comments.
