This might also be my preference for more barebones software (and my absolute hatred for Canva) showing a little
It's surprisingly good because it doesn't have a lot of the clutter and menu jumping that dedicated design sites have
But you don't get the polish or integration those sites have (which I honestly don't mind, I'm making enough shit up for this that gslides actually winds up working better)
Designing a TTRPG in gslides truly is an experience
I should also note that guns can be really useful to Shiroyama things if you need to, say, give a reason as to why there aren't that many wizards around (mage shield does not stop rifle rounds)
Honestly this is just tempting me to make a fantasy world with extremely skilled arquebusier mercenaries
On the thematic bit, I feel like arquebuses/handgonnes can fit pretty well thematically.
I personally just chose to set my rpg in pretty much an early 20th century fantasy world to avoid thematic issues (also to use more real guns as inspo)
There are also a ton of different ways that guns can be used as plot devices (eg. one faction buys rifles from two other factions, leading to logistical complications, or one faction having a narrower selection of more refined guns and another having a wider selection of more experimental designs)
I also just want to say how funny it is to me when steampunk settings try to avoid firearms bc there's no way no one in your world with late 18th-early 20th century technology thought to propel things with explosives and then someone else decided to use that against other people
And from a gameplay standpoint, guns can be really useful for making sure that non-magic users can compete with mages so you can have a more powerful magic system without making wizards the only way to play
I can also kinda get the "too modern" idea, but then, why not a Handgonne or arquebus??? Why not use guns to illustrate a divide between a more traditionalist faction and a more advanced one? Why not do guns that use magic in some way?
The only reason I can really think of is that DnD's combat system sucks for guns, but also there are other systems *cough cough* Fallout *cough cough* that work infinitely better
Making a TTRPG setting and I cannot for the life of me figure out why fantasy worldbuilders seem allergic to the concept of guns in their settings
Props to the Fulton Flashlight switch for being the best piece of shit I've ever seen
I do not believe that the employees believed that it was for bracelets
Buying 20 feet of paracord from a surplus store for totally not domming reasons

When I found a pub with an inverted normal map. (If you understand what this means, you have to repost.)
3D modeling is fun until your software shits the bed and kills your UVs for one model while deleting all the animations and textures for another

Being trans in America feels like being stuck in a burning building while the fire department tries to negotiate with the flames
And what's getting lost in all of this: what Newsom/California are proposing will not appease the people who just straight up want trans people out of society.
Feeding crows for shiny objects:
- based on lies
- repetitive
- you probably won't succeed
Feeding crows for a city wide defense net:
- proven fact
- gain the trust of local wildlife (more in touch with nature)
- become a menace to anyone who blocks your driveway
- I'm already succeeding at it
