Witkoff saying that the overwhelming majority in the four Ukrainian regions (Zaporizhzhia, Kherson, Donetsk, Luhansk) voted to be part of Russia is preposterous. The 2022 referendums were sham. The majority in Zaporizhzhia live in areas under Ukrainian rule where there was no referendum at all.
It’s clear from this that the only difference between Steve Witkoff’s and Vladmir Putin’s views on the war in Ukraine is that Putin actually knows the names of all the five Ukrainian regions he wants to keep.

In reality, Russia will be able to continue its attacks on Ukrainian infrastructures, since it has always claimed that these were military targets...
Putin wants an energy/infrastructure only ceasefire. A sign that these attacks by Ukraine are having real impact and he's worried by then. Ukraine should consider rejecting Putin's selective ceasefire and get something broader than helps Ukraine.

Always has been, Russia can stop its war by simply withdrawing from Ukraine.

Today is a reminder of Zelensky's superhuman stamina and strength. He deflected deeply unfair vile attacks in his 3rd language and kept it together while two bullies threatened his country's existence and repeated the tired but infuriating propaganda tropes of the aggressor.

It is hard to imagine a worse outcome for everyone, except Putin. A catastrophic meeting, which ended up with Trump (again) telling everyone how hard done by he and Putin were, and threatening Zelenskyy. If Europeans have any hope that Trump might do the right thing eventually, it ends right here.
What I feel is ashamed.
Trump to Zelenskyy: "Don't tell us what we're gonna feel. You're in no position to dictate that. You're in no position to dictate what we're gonna feel. We're gonna feel very good and very strong. You're right now not in a very good position. You're gambling with World War 3."

It is more targeted indeed, and Khartiya does have a good reputation so people might be attracted by that, but I'd be curious to know the actual impact of both
February 28, 2025 at 11:02 AM
Also got one from Khartiya : “Hey friend! The Khartiya brigade is looking for like-minded people. We guarantee training, technologies, clear planning, modern equipment and payments up to 200k UAH. Our goal is to defeat the enemy and save the life of every soldier.”
