It’s a very niche mkt that could afford care outside of the BC system which includes $6/hr wage top up. Still challenges here but the current strength is that there are multiple approaches being employed simultaneously that allow most to survive. Few providers are thriving however. More work to do!
Many Toronto daycares are pulling out of the Ontario government’s affordable childcare program.
In BC, some private child care operators have refused to opt in to the NDP’s program but I haven’t heard of large scale withdrawal once enrolled.
