“We did buy an oil pipeline… and what did we get?

“We have oil and gas companies that committed to net zero and then took their massive record, historic profits and gave them back in massive bonuses to their CEOs and executives, and through share buybacks largely to Americans”

What year is this—really? A decade after the Trans Mountain Pipeline disaster and billions in taxpayer dollars wasted, we’re walking the same tired path again. Whatever environmental concessions the Prime Minister has gotten from Alberta is a farce risking BC’s precious coastline.

The irony is impossible to miss: Carney, the former UN Special Envoy on Climate Action, is now entertaining a pipeline expansion that runs directly counter to the urgent climate leadership he used to champion.

Great turnout at the coffee meeting at Art We Are this morning. Pizza party tonight at 6:30, how cool is it you can talk to the leader of a provincial party and meet like minded folks right here in #Kamloops

It feels like something has shifted and change is possible. Doomerism is a dead end.

There is no political, economic or environmental case for even pretending to consider Northern Gateway pipeline.
Mark Carney has given a huge with to Danielle Smith while reviving the environmental conflicts of Stephen Harper.
This is a huge mistake.

But even as authorities increasingly support the ancient practice, he believes prescribed and cultural burns need even more buy-in from government, academia and media."

“Since the release of the Cowichan Title decision this past August, the issue of reconciliation, Aboriginal Title, and private fee simple title has been inflamed by this government’s inadequate response and opposition parties’ misinformation and disinformation,” said Rob Botterell, MLA.
The BC Greens are calling on the NDP government to implement a Three-Point Reconciliation Plan.

“We believe this 3-point plan can reset the tone, reduce tensions, and allow the land question to be addressed in the legislature with First Nations in a depoliticized way,” said MLA Botterell.
