Anyways I think the moral of the story here is that being proactive about reaching out to people you want to work with is more important than hoping people will come seek you out. At least, that’s how it’s been in my limited experience.

I’m mainly disappointed because I overbought on film. I’ll use it eventually but if I had known I would only be shooting one roll I would’ve bought maybe two rolls instead of four. Still excited to see the pics though!

So my “free cosplay portraits” post got tons of traction on IG and people were like “omg I’ll totally have to swing by!” and then… basically nobody did. like I barely filled up a roll of medium format film and that was with me approaching random cosplayers I saw

I’ve used it as a commissioner and it definitely makes the whole process smoother. Having a searchable “marketplace” of artists is nice too - I’ve found a number of people I wouldn’t have otherwise known existed!

I just saw some people talking about the bsky censorship situation and censoring the word rape. DON'T do that here. People who avoid the subject can mute this word, and using words like "r4p3, 🍇" or whatever is not helping anyone. Why do people do that??
