My colleague Dr. Sehrish Shikarpurya and I got to work on a review of the use of Critical Quantitative Methods (CQM) within special education. I TA’ed a 4-student reading class. They were also in teaching practicum. Because it was practice based we built in time for them to practice curriculum and interventions. Discussions also encouraged students to reflect on their placements and we would brainstorm based on the kiddos they worked with

The White House is taking new steps to undermine every international student at our universities.

It has approved a new rule restricting student visas to 4 years max. That's not long enough for PhD students, or about half of undergrads, to finish their degree.

This concept of "deployment of disability" gets me thinking about how teachers are crucial gatekeepers to identification for supports and services, and on the flip side, also a key leverage point when thinking about disproportionality in disability ID. Plus, I love a vignette study.
