I’ve roughed out a painting of a cow in a quilt pattern. I like the result … in concept, but it’s not quite there yet. I’m mulling over a number of changes. Different cow. Different colors. … jvacreate.com/2025/10/24/q...

My painting of a friend’s house titled “Welcome”, was shown in a statewide exhibition last month. Then it was chosen from the statewide exhibit to be on display for a full year at the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences at UW-Madison!

@us.theguardian.com You report on Trump family buying land for a golf course in Vietnam with cash compensation “as little as” $12 per square meter. That’s $48,500/acre, which is almost 10 times the average price of irrigated land in the US. Is that right???

My painting of Kirkjufell (literally “church mountain”) near Grundarfjörður, #Iceland. I worked from a sketch I had made while boating past the mountain last summer. A remarkable sight.

The end of informed #GreatLakes Fish Mgmnt is at hand. My heart aches 4 former colleagues, the future of the GL, & all the small businesses that depend on GL fishing: hotels, restaurants, marinas, charter & commercial fishers, fish shops, vibrant small towns that dot the shoreline. shorturl.at/Wilzt

I dropped Twitter, Instagram, Amazon Prime. Switched from Amazon's Goodreads to StoryGraph. Left State Farm Ins (member of ALEC). Leaving FB and Google is more challenging. Some small businesses/orgs only exist on FB. And what can substitute for G mail/drive/photos/calendar/maps/YouTube? Any advice?

I saw a pair of short-eared owls yesterday! I spotted one at the top of a conifer. After 20 minutes of watching the one, another one suddenly flew out of the same tree! Then they both started flying their circuits over the fields, hunting. So cool!
