I made some really good progress on my WIP tonight, enough so that I may bring my computer with me to work so I can continue it on my breaks

I'm still in the setup part of the novel, so I've got to figure out narrative beats and how everything works together

I’m apparently pretty intimidating according to my coworkers - an 8 out of 10 - but like … I’m a big marshmallow? I cry when people dance pretty for fuck’s sake

Back onto my physical watercolor shit. I tried making a piece on Procreate, but y'all, it's humbling! The amount of skill that digital artists have - that is only partially transferable to physical media - is absolutely insane. So I had to do something that made me feel better about myself lol

Oh & another thing. Drawing Six Devil Creek is gonna be HARD. I don't have the skills yet for Procreate (that's gonna take a while) & I left my art supplies at home, so ... it looks like I'll be doing the writing portion for the next several weeks #cries

The tethers that technology places on me just makes me feel trapped. When I take Nelson on a walk, I don't want to feel annoyed when he has to poop bc it could mess with my workout's numbers; I want to enjoy that time with my dog & nature!

This is yet another step in me disconnecting from a lot of technology. There's nothing wrong with my Apple watch, but the constant dopamine doses I get from closing rings or tracking steps is just so antithetical to who I am as a person in general
