If we want to preserve democracy then we must destroy tax havens. They are parasites sucking wealth out of democracies, freeing the super-rich from taxation while imposing ever greater burdens on ordinary folk – burdens which will ultimately break democracy.

<p dir="LTR">Israeli troops conducted intense shelling and aerial attacks from helicopters east of al-Bureij refugee camp, in central Gaza. Israeli warplanes also carried out six air strikes east of Rafah, in southern Gaza.</p>
<p dir="LTR">In Khan Younis, Israeli forces shelled a house in the town of Bani Suheila. There were no immediate reports of casualties in any of the attacks.</p>
