Dass ein Satz mit solch autoritärem Sound von der SPD fällt ist das eine. Dass ein Social-Media-Team sich dann hinsetzt und denkt: »Geil, den posten wir«, da fällt mir nix mehr zu ein.

#HannahArendt ist ‘in’: von Söder über Kretschmann bis zum Papst, von links- wie rechts, vom Globalen Norden bis Süden, ihr Name in aller Munde. Aber nicht im Rahmen öffentlicher Debatten, sondern zur Selbsterhöhung. Es hat sich nichts geändert: sie hat es damals schon gehasst. Lest sie selbst!

Ich sehe eine große - und bis jetzt auch in der Wissenschaft zu wenig artikulierte - Gefahr darin, dass alle, die sich für “Anti-Antisemitismus” engagieren indirekt der #noAfD in die Hände spielen. Um dem vorzubeugen muss man unbedingt kritische jüdische Stimmen zentrieren & ihnen viel mehr zuhören.

Yes precisely. That’s why I don’t think Attac‘s example works. It rather cements what is already established. To me at least, these dinosaur, frog, unicorn costumes work (just as all the costumes did in Myanmar after the military attempted a coup in 2021), bcs they do not employ the same signifiers.

Yesterday I spent 4hrs in the kitchen, cooking #plof, a dish known from Mongolia to Iran. My version is Southern Kyrgyz style with red rice, lamb, apricots, raisins and lots of spices.

That sounds bad, but also completely misses what Graeber had in mind. Performances are to disrupt the capability of the state / those in power to constitute the symbolic order per se. So “inverting misery” (eg Attac) is precisely not working as it doubles down on the same signifiers. Frogs work. 🐸
