I was self-conscious about wearing tinted lenses indoors when I first started, but given how they actually allow me to live my life by changing the light frequency hitting my eyes, I simply do not give a fuck what other people think anymore.

No, you said the CR would be the mechanism to increase premiums, which is inaccurate.

The CR is a "clean CR," meaning that it keeps funding at the same level it was already at through November.

The ACA subsidies and Medicaid changes don't go into effect until January.

God forbid we actually learn about the atrocities the US committed about black and brown people. Making all those white kids feel guilt for what their ancestors may or may not have done? We just can't have that!!

I really wish people would learn about how the government actually works, why the gov't is shutdown, etc. before they say something on here.

I don't trust my brain after a TBI and brain fog, so I google a lot to verify and I promise it doesn't take long to prevent spreading misinformation.

The CR doesn't change the ACA subsidies or Medicaid. Both of those were affected by Trump's big bill in July that Republicans pushed through.

Democrats are trying to reinstate Medicaid funding and plextend the subsidies.

That's not how it works, though. She can't access her credentials, computer access, budget, etc. without a move by the House.

And the House has to authorize a judge to swear in a member, so that doesn't work, either.

Without Johnson's approval, she's screwed.

We need a Reconstruction 2.0 that we don't abandon, but cutting off red states like the poster suggested would only stoke tensions more.

It was never about hostages. It was always about destroying the "enemy" and stealing their land.

What is new is using it for official business and potentially evading laws on retention of official government communications.
