Today's a good day to reach out to the trans people in your life. Every day is, but today especially they need to know that you're in their corner.
I think I'd get in trouble if I walked up to a high school freshman and started talking about their eyes.
I was self-conscious about wearing tinted lenses indoors when I first started, but given how they actually allow me to live my life by changing the light frequency hitting my eyes, I simply do not give a fuck what other people think anymore.
No, you said the CR would be the mechanism to increase premiums, which is inaccurate.

The CR is a "clean CR," meaning that it keeps funding at the same level it was already at through November.

The ACA subsidies and Medicaid changes don't go into effect until January.
...

This whole thread of yours is wildly anti-feminist, aside from those last two clauses, which are just wild.

People have kinks or preferred lifestyles and that doesn't define them, nor does being a sex worker. We don't have to understand someone's choices to accept them.
White nationalist tattoos of all sorts are prevalent in media and have the same basic features because many are derived from the Nazis.

If he couldn't figure that out before, he's not smart enough to represent a state's worth of people in the Senate.
This should say high school, not college. I've been awake for an hour and a half and am already ready for a nap.
God forbid we actually learn about the atrocities the US committed about black and brown people. Making all those white kids feel guilt for what their ancestors may or may not have done? We just can't have that!!

Signed,
A former white kid who learned about those things and grew up with empathy.
The closest I came was my interest in WWII history in college because I could not fathom how such a thing could come about.

Little did I know I'd be learning by experience 24 years later.

It's really OK to change your mind when new facts are presented. It really is.
I really wish people would learn about how the government actually works, why the gov't is shutdown, etc. before they say something on here.

I don't trust my brain after a TBI and brain fog, so I google a lot to verify and I promise it doesn't take long to prevent spreading misinformation.
The CR doesn't change the ACA subsidies or Medicaid. Both of those were affected by Trump's big bill in July that Republicans pushed through.

Democrats are trying to reinstate Medicaid funding and plextend the subsidies.
The ADL hasn't always sucked and they have a comprehensive library of Nazi symbols. Just because that was the source picked doesn't mean it isn't wrong.
I want this for the Washington press corps, too, especially for the White House. Actual journalists are far to fearful of losing their access to act as anything other than stenographers.
That's not how it works, though. She can't access her credentials, computer access, budget, etc. without a move by the House.

And the House has to authorize a judge to swear in a member, so that doesn't work, either.

Without Johnson's approval, she's screwed.
I didn't say there don't need to be repercussions.

We need a Reconstruction 2.0 that we don't abandon, but cutting off red states like the poster suggested would only stoke tensions more.

It's crazy how every single journalist at every single mainstream media outlet forgot that words have specific meanings.

A ceasefire means both sides stop firing. Israel hasn't done that in either case.
In Lebanon, 11 months after a ceasefire agreement halted the latest Israel-Hezbollah war, near-daily Israeli airstrikes have become the new normal, killing more than 270 people. It could be a blueprint for how the ceasefire in Gaza will unfold.
Israel still fires on Lebanon almost a year after a ceasefire. Some predict the same for Gaza
Israel continues to launch near-daily strikes in neighboring Lebanon. That's despite a U.S.-brokered ceasefire in the latest Israel-Hezbollah war nearly a year ago.
bit.ly
The ceasefire is over, AP. The moment one side attacks the other, and then again, and again, and again, it's over.

It was never about hostages. It was always about destroying the "enemy" and stealing their land.

That's what it's been about for 75+ goddamned years.
What happened in 2018 to stop the Chinese from buying soybeans?

Oh, that's right. Trump. And taxpayers got the privilege of bailing out farmers then.

There's a common denominator here on who to blame and it isn't China.
Government employees have been using Signal for years to share info with journalists. This isn't something new in the Trump administration.

What is new is using it for official business and potentially evading laws on retention of official government communications.
Yikes. You would think they'd slip a note under your door or something.

I mean this is viscerally upsetting because it's really genuinely him treating the white house like it's his own personal property; he's the king and it's his palace. No other president ever thought like this, even if they were a fucking horrible person, because it goes against our founding creed
I'm not a West Wing obsessed lib or anything but the more I see pictures of this the more fucked up I think it is. It's like he cut off one of the hands of the Lincoln memorial with an angle grinder so he could add a big gun to it.
The Treasury Department instructed employees not to share to share photos of the demolition of parts of the White House’s East Wing
The only worthwhile thing in that entire house is the Manning jersey and it's not worth $410k.
The next time I'm feeling bad about the state of my house, I just need to take a look at the pictures for this listing.
The "spoiler" kid is my favorite.
