They know they're going to lose. So all they can do is hash up these claims with no evidence.
BREAKING: Trump calls California's mail voting "rigged" and threatens a "legal and criminal review" of ballots in Tuesday's special election. His claims emerge as voters consider Prop 50, a measure that would enable the state to redistrict to counter GOP gerrymanders.

In a way, I find the authoritarian takeover of our media system even more disturbing than the authoritarian takeover of our political system.

Our political system has been failing basically my entire adult life. But, the media system provided accountability and sort of worked. Now it’s collapsing.

Speaker Johnson needs to stop being on vacation, admit that Americans need healthcare assistance, strike the draconian health cuts from the ugly budget bill, and get back to work so he can swear in Arizona's newly elected Representative-elect Adelita Grijalva.

The beginning of a really stupid sci-fi movie about robots that end up killing dumb rich people.
Why would someone pay $20k for a robot controlled by a human in a remote location to do things more slowly and clumsily when the median wage for a maid or housekeeper is $33k per year, which is typically spread across 10-20 households?

This is what the Dems need to be out doing every single day!!! And this is the first time I've seen them say this.
Welch: "This has nothing to do with the shutdown. The law requires and the funds are available to continue SNAP right now without any interruption. So that is a decision the president is making on his own to allow people to go hungry."

Pennsylvania has an important Supreme Court race coming up on Tuesday, November 4. If you live in the Keystone State, or know someone who does, vote YES to retain three justices who will protect your fundamental rights and freedoms.

Yep!
Mockler: I’m 23 years old, and Gen Zers have spent all of our formative years living in a political system that’s purely dysfunctional. People in my generation see the president posting memes online rather than actually negotiating with the other side.

Amazon just announced 14,000 layoffs. Its CEO made over $40M last year.

UPS announced 48,000 layoffs. Its CEO made over $24M last year.

Intel announced 20,000 layoffs. Its new CEO's pay package is valued at nearly $69M.

This is what I mean when I say the system is rigged.

Me watching MR. SCORSESE with my dad last week: You know, someone should really gather his early short films in a collection on Blu-ray.

Me at the library this week 🤯

Kudos @criterion.bsky.social you literally read my mind and incepted Scorsese Shorts into a library I was randomly visiting.

Last Week Tonight with John Oliver this week is a complete takedown of Bari Weiss... and it's thorough and devastating.

And a bit of interesting timing, given that Weiss's new boss, David Ellison (who is talked about in the episode) is trying to buy HBO, where Oliver's show is...

Thinking more about #Parallels25, my primary take-away is the same as it is every year:

Life is overwhelming.
The world is a nightmare.
Politics are exhausting.

BUT: We keep making art! Art is vital, beautiful, heartwarming, and a salve against everything that ails us.

They wanted the House.
They wanted the Senate.
They wanted the White House.
They got it. All of it.
It's all theirs.
And it's shut down.

They can lie
They can troll
They can "own the libs"

But. They. Cannot. Govern.

This is all you need to hold in mind when you're looking to assign blame.
