LibroFM has a bunch of books discounted, BUT ALSO linking your account to an indie bookstore (either local or a long-distance relationshop) sends some of the sale their way instead of Bezzy Boy 🖤

also, ALL THE HEARTS YOU EAT is part of the sale. Ends Dec 2nd 🫀

Have you picked up AT DARK, I BECOME LOATHSOME by @ericlarocca.bsky.social in paperback yet? 🖤

From a master of the darkest, most beautiful horror fiction comes a horrifying yet hopeful tale of grief, trauma, and love.

I once asked a bookseller at a large indie store how many people would have to buy a book for it to get the attention of the store buyer and cause an additional order and they said: Three.
I see some book piracy discourse, and, to make a positive argument in favor of buying books, your marginal ability to influence what books get published and support the careers of writers you like is massive compared to most other forms of media.

One of the most interesting, unsettling examinations of the contamination of grief, @ericlarocca.bsky.social’s Wretch is a hell of a psychological trip into the darkest recesses of human entitlement, perception, and desperation. My review:

Floors me year after year that my editor at Del Rey, Tricia Narwani, isn't nominated for all the editor awards. A truly exceptional editor who understands a) how to deliver strong, constructive feedback nestled in effusive praise and b) the best editing identifies a problem without providing the fix
By the way, it's National Editor Appreciation Day.

Nobody ever reads a great article and thinks, "Dang, that was some tight editing." But editing is a big part of how it got to be great.

So writers, if you've ever worked with a good editor, shout 'em out.

Putting this out into the universe… I think the following directors would absolutely devour an adaptation of one of my books:

Julia Ducournau (RAW, TITANE)
Danny and Michael Philippou (TALK TO ME, BRING HER BACK)
Coralie Fargeat (REVENGE, THE SUBSTANCE)
