You can have communist community without going through socialism. Socialism is a bridge from capitalism to communism, but is its own thing as well. Socialism does not need to become communism, and you can have communism without ever having socialism. Communes have been doing this for centuries.

I’m not arguing the merits of communism. I believe in it. I’m arguing that your idea that socialism is just a stepping stone to communism is false, short sighted, and dumb. Those are two completely different arguments.

There’s a direct route, skipping socialism altogether. Plus socialism doesn’t have to be a stepping. It is and can be its own thing. Yes they are similar and can lead to each other, but they are also their own separate things, valid in and of themselves. Blurring them is dumb.
