Canada is sending resources to help fight the California fires.

So is Mexico.

So are other states.

Over 800 convicted felons are out there fighting the fires.

Not the Chief Convicted Felon elect of America.

He's too busy politicizing this disaster.

It’s simple. I’ll use it in a sentence:

President-elect Musk and Donald Trump went out for dinner on a mandate.
I’m not sure they know what mandate means.

As a member of the President’s Commission on the US Supreme Court I ended up strongly supporting this change. In my view, it can be accomplished by an appropriate Act of Congress, without any need to amend the Constitution.

Still very disappointing that people are swayed so easily by trends in education.

Three things that would make #k12 education better almost immediately if it started today:
Fully fund public schools
Get rid of standardized testing
Give teachers ample time and support to do their jobs

It made me physically ill following updates from the Supreme Court today. Sending love to trans people, trans kids especially, and their families because… whew. Enduring this kind of hostility is an experience us cisgender will never fully understand.

Wow. $100/month in median rent = 9% bump in homelessness rate. Oof
Damn.
A staggering statistic: Every $100 increase in median rent is associated with a *9 percent* increase in the estimated homelessness rate, according to a report by the U.S. Government Accountability Office.

The math of our housing crisis is brutally clear.

Korea Expert here. I’ll explain what’s going on over there because the Orient can be confusing to Westerners. In Korea, there is a concept known as “the law.” (법) This is a set of rules which are enforced to encourage prosocial behavior and ensure stability which leaders aren’t allowed to break.
