Web Components! This post by @zachleat.com is a good example of a case where it can make fine sense to use an empty custom element that doesn't need to wrap already-functional/meaningful HTML. Those cases tend to be the exception in my experience/preference though!

I am looking for a full-time job.

Being independent in open source for 3.5+ years has been wonderful. I've gotten done most of the high-level goals I wanted to, and miss having people & structure around me.

If you know of a role for a staff-level TypeScript+web developer, let me know! 🙂

Seconded! A great course and a bargain to boot.
I got access shortly after Scott's course launched and it is hands down the best course on web components I have seen. Beginner-friendly yet covers all the ground you need to get started with web components.

Can't recommend it enough.

Excitingly, Today's the opening day of MathsWorld, the new hands-on maths museum in London. I've really enjoyed visiting MathsCity in Leeds, but they've now got a London location too! Details at mathsworld.com

Okay, for the folks who asked: here's the majority AI view, writing up the reasonable, thoughtful view on AI that the vast majority of people in tech hold, that gets overshadowed by the bluster and hype of the tycoons trying to shill their nonsense. anildash.com/2025/10/17/t... Please share!

😮 Alex is one of the best people I can think of to do a show like this!

Such a great idea. Excited to check this out. 😄
This is the most personal project I’ve made in years.

I launched a new show called The Callback. It’s weekly web dev news with my dumb humor sprinkled on top.

If this pilot does well I get to make more, so watching, liking, and sharing would be DEEPLY appreciated 💜
